Why it can resume
A stream is already in parts. VGrab writes each part to disk as it arrives and remembers how far it got; whether the connection dropped, you paused, or the browser closed, those parts are still there. Press Continue and it fetches from the remembered part onward — not a byte before it is transferred again.
When it resumes
- The network dropped or the site stopped answering: wait for it to come back, press Continue.
- You pressed Pause: press Continue on the card.
- The browser was closed or the computer restarted: open the video page again, click the VGrab icon — it tells you which part this video reached; one click continues.
Questions
Does a whole-file MP4 resume too? Yes. It asks for bytes from where it stopped; servers that support ranges resume there, and if one does not you are told it has to start over.
Do unfinished downloads sit on my disk forever? Finished ones are cleaned up on completion, abandoned ones immediately; the Unfinished list shows what is left and how much space it takes, with one-click cleanup.
