Why "Save as" does not work
Many sites cut a video into pieces a few seconds long (M3U8 / HLS, or DASH) and the player asks for them one by one. Right-click in the page and you get a playlist, not a video.
What VGrab does
It reads the playlist, fetches several parts at once, and writes each part into one file on disk in order — nothing piles up in memory, thousands of parts or not. When everything is in, it turns the file into a standard MP4: phones, TVs and editors open it directly, no merging tool, no leftover pieces.
Video and audio sent as separate tracks (common) are merged into one file with sound. Whole files — MP4, WEBM, FLV — download the same way.
How to use it, two steps
- Open the video page and press play.
- Click the VGrab icon, then Save.
Questions
What if a few parts never come back? They are skipped, the rest continues, and a second pass fills them in; anything still missing is reported honestly as "N parts missing", never passed off as complete.
Is the MP4 as sharp as the original? Yes. Parts are moved into the MP4 as they are — not a single frame is re-encoded.
